Liz Ryan’s article, “The Real Reason Qualified People Don’t Get Hired” pretty much says it all. Keyword matching resumes is not a good system. I got the impression that online job boards constitute a failed enterprise. The advice as I understand it is to directly reach out to companies. Directly reach out to specific people in those companies about the type of work you could do for them as an employee. I think she is right and it will require more drive and effort to accomplish. The approach she suggests has to be better than just waiting around for feedback. Action, the right action is the solution.
