Single-payer health care bill passes California Senate, heads to Assembly. I don’t trust the health care establishment in general. However, at least a single-payer system potentially provides the option to seek the right health care and possibly escape a bad health care situation. People do get bad doctors. People do get bad health treatment. That does happen and it can greatly discourage you from getting the health care you need when you either have given up on the health care system or see better options for treatment as out of reach.
The decision to do single-payer, despite the uncertainty around funding, is a true leap of faith. The people involved are essentially saying, they don’t know how they are going to do this, but it is the best way to pursue quality health care for all.
