I thank the fine folks at WordPress for reversing the automatic suspension of GautierTalksTechnology. It was a difficult day mentally living through the possibilities. It is unfortunate that I let my mood be a somber, downtrodden, worse for wear type of demeanor and sense of life in connection with the suspension. The prospect of losing 9 years of work on a blog was beyond despair. At that state of mind, you begin to see imagined slights and wonder what you did to deserve such cruelty when you tried to do something good.
I could be embarrassed about coming to the wrong conclusions but I decided that my exposed vulnerability was good for me. I will take the erosion of my projected strength as a lesson for the future. Few of us can be fully resilient against all calamity even those said to be the fault of an improperly programmed computer system that flags your content as spam.
A spam determination on a single article triggers the shutdown of an entire website with 9 years of work numbering 460 articles published. You would think by the 400th article, the spam bot would know that there is no spam going on here. I know that is not rigorous logic, but certainly a human could see that my YouTube video is not spam. If only the suspension notice stated what the problem was and I could then take it a little more easy throughout the day and not think that I royally screwed something up.
As a result of these issues, it is clear to me that I spend too much time invested in online platforms in the wrong way. Platforms like this can be unhealthy and I am beginning to fathom what that is like. So much of our identity can be wrapped up in the content we produce and when that content is taken away it is like a major part of us is ripped way. I had hoped the blog posts I made would last forever, but I am not sure that will be the case. Now, I will just be more careful with how I engage these platforms both in mind and time invested.
